OSMIS Wakefield

Alternative Provision in Wakefield

OSMIS Wakefield provides Alternative Provision for children and young people who may need a different approach to learning, confidence and personal development.

Our Wakefield provision is designed to support pupils through structured 1 to 1 mentoring, trusted relationships and personalised programmes that help each young person feel safe, understood and ready to make progress.

Specialist ADHD-Focused Support

The Wakefield site has a particular focus on supporting young people with ADHD or suspected ADHD.

We understand that some pupils may find traditional learning environments difficult, especially when they are managing attention, impulsivity, emotional regulation, confidence or anxiety. OSMIS provides support that is calm, consistent and shaped around the needs of each young person.

Working With Stripes

OSMIS Wakefield runs in collaboration with Stripes, a well-established ADHD charity in West Yorkshire.

Stripes supports children, young people and families affected by ADHD, making them a strong local partner for our Wakefield provision. This collaboration helps us provide a supportive environment where young people can feel understood, accepted and encouraged.

1 to 1 Alternative Provision

Wakefield focuses on 1 to 1 Alternative Provision for pupils who need personalised support away from a traditional classroom setting.

Each programme is built around the young person’s needs, interests and goals. Through mentoring, structure and positive relationships, we help pupils develop confidence, emotional literacy, communication skills and stronger attitudes towards learning.

Reintegration and Positive Progress

Where appropriate, OSMIS Wakefield supports young people towards reintegration, transition or the most suitable long-term education pathway.

We work closely with schools, families and referring partners to review progress, understand next steps and help each young person move forward at a pace that is right for them.
