Every young person deserves the chance to feel safe, supported and able to make progress. For some pupils, this means accessing a different approach to learning, development and emotional support.

OSMIS Alternative Provision is designed for children and young people who may need time, space and trusted relationships to help them re-engage with education. This support can be especially important for pupils experiencing anxiety, low confidence, reduced school engagement, SEMH needs, SEND or difficulties with emotional regulation.
The focus is not only on education. It is also about helping young people build confidence, develop communication skills, understand their emotions and begin to see positive possibilities for the future.
At OSMIS, support is built around the individual. Mentors take time to understand each young person’s interests, needs and goals, creating a programme that feels meaningful and achievable. This personalised approach can help young people feel listened to, respected and ready to take small steps forward.
Alternative Provision can also support schools and care partners by providing a structured pathway for pupils who need additional help. Where appropriate, this may include reintegration into school, transition to specialist provision or preparation for the next stage of education.
Empowering young people takes patience, consistency and the right environment. Through mentoring, inclusion support and Alternative Provision, OSMIS helps young people build the confidence they need to move towards a more positive future.
